Orbit investigates the representation of atomic structures through the use of music and digital imagery. The periodic table as a means of organising information reflects the patterns found in musical notation. Atomic orbitals are mathematical functions which represent the behaviour of electrons within an atom; their symmetries give rise to the organisational structure devised by Dmitri Mendeleev.
